In order to completely stop cyberbullying society is going to have to change. The chances of that happening are very slim, so there has to be another way. Cyberbullying is a huge problem and many people don't realize it. Kids going through that type of pain don't know what to do so usually they will in some way hurt themselves in some way, rather than trying to get help. Which that is a problem, kids who are thinking that they are that alone is just sad. Are we really that messed up of a society that we can't stop the bullying?
It is sad that other people would really find humor in driving someone to kill themselves online. They are too scared to do it in person, so in return they hide behind a screen. Websites should have some kind of technology that tells when someone is cyberbullying. Our technology is so good there should be something that can monitor things like this. Lives are being lost due to cowards hiding behind a screen, and we don't have the audacity to fix it.

I believe that children need some way to get their energy out. I think recess is great idea and is needed, although I think children should have a choice. Sometimes kids might have other activities at night, and they might be able to get their energy out then. Recess I don't think is needed for every student so I think they should have a choice to do something else. Not all kids need the recess, some kids might want the time to work on school things.
Kids are different, meaning they need different things. Sometimes kids need different ways to get energy out. I just think there should be something other than recess, I think the kids should have a choice to do what they want. I know when I went to recess I would get kinda bored, sweaty, and all gross. I hated that and some days I wish I could've just stayed inside and worked on homework or something. I think the kids need some kind of break, but I don't necessarily think that recess is the answer. Yes in most ways school is very helpful. School is a place where I love to learn although sometimes it can be stressful and ridiculous. Most classes I feel that I am learning but in others I feel like I am doing pointless work. School I hope is going to helpful in the real world, but I think I am also too young to make that call because I haven't experienced enough. I think school is teaching the academics a lot more than the skills that are needed in life.
The skills that I am going to need are going to be learned throughout high school. Not necessarily in the classroom but rather with experiences. High school experiences have already taught me a lot about the person I want to be. The way some of the kids act has shown the person I for sure do not want to be. School is teaching me a lot emotionally and mentally, but I still feel that I have a lot left to learn and experience. I believe money can buy happiness. I am happy right now, although if I had a lot more money I would be a lot more happy. I could help other people in need which in return will make them happy and me happy. Many people say that money doesn't buy happiness but they have had money all of their lives and probably haven't been using it in the right way. People like to buy cars and fancy things while if I had money, I would prefer making other people happy.
Money runs the world, its just how it works. If you are sad, tired, and rich go do something to make someone else happy. If you get tired of spending the money on yourself go spend it on people who actually might need it. If I had money I would help my family and friends first, and then if i had money left over I would give it to a charity. Many people don't realize this but money can make you happy, you just have to use it in the right way. I believe that the logical answer is yes. Sometimes people have practices that don't start until 9 or 10 at night. Meaning they get home from school, do their homework, watch a little television, then go to practice. Now, they probably won't get to sleep until around 12, (after dinner or other things they couldn't get done before practice). School starts at 8:20, meaning they probably need to wake up at 7 or even earlier, if they need to go to before school tutoring. Averaging out to, 7 hours or less hours of sleep. The average growing teenager needs to get 8-10 hours of sleep every single night. I as well have to be up at 4:20 am two times a week due to my swim schedule. On these nights after homework and all, I go to bed around 10:30, giving me 5 hours and 50 minutes of sleeping time. I don't get home until 7 am, then I have to go through the school day, then right back to a 2.5 hour practice that same night. I do all of that running on 5 hours of sleep. This is why I think school should start later because after these practices I could come back from morning practice and get a good, well-rested, nap.
The answer is yes, it really can. I notice that when I get annoyed with something I will just play on my phone and go through social media. It makes me more sad seeing pictures of people having fun, when I might not have plans a certain night, therefore making me feel more alone. I have also observed my friends when they are on technology. It gets really annoying when you are trying to talk to someone and all they are doing is playing on their phone. I get it a phone is a big part of life now days, but conversation is still a thing. People don seem to understand that sometimes and when that does happen, it makes me feel like Im alone or that they don't care.
One person's dream can change the world, it just depends on what that dream is. If a dream is to go to the Olympics, then it may not change the world. Although if a dream is to build a spaceship and launch it to a far away planet than that is a different story. A vote usually can't change an election, it is not an idea, it is simply just an opinion. Not saying that opinions don't matter, but an opinion will not change the world. If the world changes is always starts with a person, the thinking of someone's mind put to work. Human Beings are, as we know, one of a kind. We are the only one's that can have dreams, that can effect the world. Most importantly changing the world has to start with a dreamer.
If this week had a theme it would probably be "learn how to handle stress". This week everything was just seeming to go wrong in my personal life with relationships, friends, and family. The one positive thought, that is a big positive, is that school was not that stressful. Things in life can just get hard sometimes, and when I get sad I usually overthink things. (not done)
I just started this book called "Shooter". So far it is very interesting, it is about this boy named Cameron that was shot at his high school. The FBI and many other investigators are trying to figure out what happened to this poor kid, that was only the prologue. The prologue also explained that the majority of the book is going to be written before the kid passed away. There are tapes on the kid and the majority of the book is all dialogue.
Throughout this story I have noticed that there is already quite a bit of conflict. I don't know what exactly yet, due to the fact that I just started the book. I also noticed that it is written in a way where I can only read what the people are saying. I can't understand what is going on in any of the characters head. I think the author did this to grasp and hold onto the reader's attention throughout the story. Digital Portfolios can help document a current understanding on a topic. Once you understand the topic the more you can go in and revise your understanding . With digital things you can share your thoughts nationally and globally. When using this type of portfolio it gives the students and teachers a lot of room to be creative.
I am not a fan of technology at all. I am not very creative and I am more into the math and science type of subjects. Trying to be creative is quite boring for me because my mind just goes blank. Although I think I should try and put more effort into my own eportfolio. I am just so use to pencil and paper, that typing is just not as fun for me. Therefor I think I should put more of time in trying to be creative with my eportfolio. |
